The staff of the Healing Arts Guide has come together from a variety of publishing and business backgrounds. We are results-oriented professionals with management experience in trade, consumer and custom magazine publishing, as well as product marketing. Collectively we have more then seventy years developing integrated media solutions for advertisers while providing our readers with timely, interesting and in-depth information on innovative companies, responsible business practices and the fundamentals driving growth in the Spa & Wellness market.
We have worked closely with product companies and wellness operations domestically and internationally in creating powerful media and marketing programs. In doing so we have developed a unique understanding of wellness operations and the products that are used to enhance their profitability.
Founder/Publisher - Jed Horowitz Mr. Horowitz, a graduate of Syracuse University, is the founder of Healing Arts Stores, LLC, a media and marketing company that specializes in the "Healthy Living Market." He is the publisher of Healing Arts Guide and www.healingartsguide.com. Healing Arts' newest media platform is Spa Hospitality Expo (SHE) a virtual trade show for the Spa & Wellness professional.
Prior to this, Mr. Horowitz spent eleven years as Co-Publisher of Spa Finder Magazine, an award winning publication for the travel, fitness and wellness market. He was a member of the executive committee and played an important role in Spa Finder Inc. becoming the leading travel and media company in the spa industry. He has worked domestically and internationally with both spas and product companies in creating the best positioning, advertising and marketing programs for the U.S. market. Mr. Horowitz has also held sales and marketing positions at Fairchild Publishing, Ziff-Davis, National Lampoon and Whittle Communications. Mr. Horowitz, who played varsity lacrosse at Syracuse, is an avid fly fisherman and competitive trap shooter - He is presently the 2010 Connecticut State Champion in men singles C Class.
Editor - Karen Kim Karen Kim is Editor of the Healing Arts Guide and has spent the past ten years witnessing and writing about the ever-evolving spa and wellness industry. Prior to joining the Guide, Ms. Kim worked for The Wall Street Journal, Guggenheim.com, The Village Voice and Zagat Survey. Most recently, She was an editor for Spa Finder Magazine and was the creative force behind the annual international directory issues.
Creative Director - Azita Shahidi Azita Shahidi, is a graduate of Pratt Institute and is the Creative Director of Healing Arts Stores, LLC. Ms. Shahidi has provided design and marketing services for companies in the Spa & Wellness market for more than seventeen years. Prior to joining Healing Arts, Ms. Shahidi was creative director at Studio 131, a New York-based design company dealing with clients such as American Business Card, Atlas Copco, Crown Publishers, Digital Corporation, Elizabeth Arden, EmergeMD, Life Magazine, Licensing Corporation of America, Lifetime Television, Major League Baseball, Mohammad Ali Parkinson Research, National Hockey League, New York Lotto, Random House, and World Cup USA. Ms. Shahidi is also a painter and artist.
